Hello, as a new member and an Aussie, I thought I'd let you know about the Australiasian Quilt Convention and Expo. If you are looking for a quilting escape, have a look at this website: www.aqc.com.au/
From April 29 - May 02, 2010, the Australiasian Quilt Convention and Expo is on in Victoria, Australia. Retailers, artists and the general public converge at this special event.

And a welcome from me too Flora.

Thanks for the info. I have checked it out on the net each year, but too far away for me to go to it. Classes look interesting. I am in Queensland.

I have been to a few of the Quilt shows in Melbourne, usually the one held at the Cauldfield, Race Course. I have never done any classes, they would cut into my shopping time. We generally go down from Castlemaine on an organised bus or catch the train. It is really a great day.
Just for interest sakes, I am purchasing a lot of my supplies from companies I have met at the shows, but now buy from their sites over the internet (only using Pay Pal) Parcels arrive in the post, delivered to the door, much easier than going out shopping for me for basic stuff. You still need an occasional visit to the shops to see and purchase fabric, not so good shopping on the net for visual and quality reasons.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
