NEED AUSSIE QUILTERS!!! 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi everyone,

As you may already know Chris is organising "regular quilting discussions".. She has people do moderate in the various time zones in the USA and some one in the UK to help.. BUT she hasn't been able to find anyone in Australia..

I am standing in for the 1st couple but then I will need another Aussie to take over the moderating of these chats... 8pm Thursdays - 2nd and 4th week each month...

Reply here or shoot an email out to Chris or I if you are interested in this exciting opportunity! chris@quiltingweekly.com OR michelle@creative-quilting.com

Michelle

Just in case you didn't receive Chris' email explaining it all, here it is:-

**********

Hi ,

Oh I am so excited today! We are finnally going to kick off our live discussions in the chat room! We now have a volunteer moderator for each of the 5 time zones so everyone can attend. How cool is that?

Chats will be held at 8:00pm in your time zone, and will be held on the 2nd and 4th week of the month. Starting the week of June 8th! (Yes that is next week ladies) So get ready to meet the other members of Quilting Weekly and possibly your own neighbors!

Here are your moderators and days for your time zones
Monday - Central USA - moderator Chris Dahl
Tuesday - UK - moderator Trish Thornhill
Wednesday - West coast USA - moderator Larraine Reese
Thursday - Australia - moderator Michelle Frost
Friday - East coast USA - moderator Kathy Howard

The first topic for discussion should prove to be interesting to new and experienced quilters. See why some prefer hand while others prefer machine quilting.

For the new quilters, come with your questions, and get your answers.
For the more experienced quilter, remember we were all beginners once.
You can help prevent someone else from struggling by sharing your tips or tricks with them. I know when I started I had no one to teach me, and believe me...........I learned plenty of things the hard way! LOL

Hand quilting vs Machine quilting.
Here are some ideas to get your discussions started

What is your preference and why?
What do you like or dislike about your choice?
Do you have any tips on hand quilting or machine quilting?
What problems did/do you have with machine quilting/hand quilting?
Do you have any tools that make your job easier?
Was your decision to hand/machine quilt influenced by anyone/thing?

Finding the chat room
First picture is where to find the chatroom. The second photo is showing you what to do once you get there.

Open the chat box is a easy as going to http://www.quiltingweekly.com then click the goodies tab, and look for the chat room, click it and your in!

Type in your name in the anonymous box first, then type in the blank white area below the conversation to join and add your comments.

Hope this helps! If you can not see the photos, or need more help please contact me before the chat by email

Chris Dahl
p.s. Get your questions ready, and join in the conversation! Hand Quilters vs Machine Quilters, where do you fit? Week of June 8th, through June 12th. 8:00pm each night. Find the day that fits your time zone, or jump into a new time zone if you like. You are welcome to join any zone that fits your schedule, but don't ask me to figure out the correct times! I only know that 8:00pm on Monday is the day I need to show up! LOL

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
